Workshops
Since the project’s founding in 2014,
we have held Make-Your-Own-
JUMPSUIT workshops where we
lead participants through the steps of
creating their own monogarment.
These workshops teach practical
and technical sewing instruction
while fostering a larger conversation
about sustainability, the emergence
of fast fashion and worker’s rights. It
is through the intentional weaving
together of these narratives that a
solidarity with the garment workers
who make our clothing can be achieved.
We believe that reform is possible
by collapsing the distance between
consumption and production.
Workshops have been held across
the nation at: MoMA New York,
Machine Project Los Angeles, Bard
Graduate Center, the Hyde Park Art
Center Chicago, Haverford College
in Haverford Pennsylvania, Central
Features Gallery in Albuquerque
New Mexico and numerous others.
